Osteopath treating woman's knee and leg

OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathy is a form of manual physical therapy that treats the whole body – muscles, joints, ligaments, fascia, viscera and nervous system. Osteopaths utilise a variety of techniques including soft tissue massage, joint manipulation, muscle stretching, fascial/ligamentous techniques, and cranial osteopathy. Osteopathy is one of the oldest forms of manual medicines. Founded in 1874 by a medical doctor, Dr Andrew Taylor Still. Osteopaths undergo 5 years of University study and are trained in diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.

Osteopathy is recognised by all private health insurance companies and can be partially covered by Medicare if referred by a GP for certain conditions. At Inner Wellness we value supporting working relationships with other healthcare practitioners, including your GP, for continuity of care.
